Brattonsville Historic District SC
Posted on: 2/26/2017 11:38:23 AM
Last year I hit Brattonsville, SC, and found out they are not open on Mondays. Doh! I walked around for a while but didn't see much except for the exteriors of some old buildings.

Parts of the Mel Gibson movie "The Patriot" were shot here. And it was the location for a major battle of the American Revolution known as Williamson's Plantation or Hucks' Defeat. Has anyone been there and do you have any opinions about the place? I might try to check out some more of SC this year.

Thanks Dave,
Good video. I walked around the Homestead House (didn't know what it was till now) and saw a few of the other buildings. I might get back there again if I can remember to stay away Mondays. Incidentally, the visitor centre at Ninety Six is also closed on Mondays, but you can still walk the trails there.
