Surprising, considering the way the emphasis in recent years has been to try to restore the 1863 appearance of the battlefield.

Any word on when they're planning to reconstruct the Home Sweet Home Motel?

A couple of years ago they planned to erect a large US flag at the Leister House to show what was there around 1920. It seemed to me just another intrusion on the battlefield but AFAIK it isn't up yet. Is that flag up now or still being planned?
I think the new large stone walls might be useful in areas where there is to be restricted access but some of those pictures indicate that they are going to mess up Cemetery Ridge. Maybe the management should be reminded that it was 1863, not 1920.

Although I think pretty new stone walls are better than nothing because they show the tactical importance they had during the battle, I don't understand why they couldn't have done a little homework to make them look accurate. "No photographic evidence" is a lazy, weasel response.

I think some of the money would have been better spent clearing the "Slaughter Pen" area again.
Or for that matter, any area that helps the viewing of 1863.
After being cleared 10-15 years ago The SP is totally overgrown again.

This is not the first questioning of the management I have.

I was so disappointed by the featured speech they chose for the Gettysburg Sesquicentennial...which had more to do with contemporary social politics than the actual battle and period that was supposed to be memorialized.

Now this crap. Why not just rebuild the big tourist tower?

Respects, Morris

The last post was on May 20th. Is there a reason it has stopped?
