Larry,

Of the multitude of newspaper vignettes which you send us - an invaluable primal source - I rate this as one of the most interesting and illuminating.

Conscience pricks me that I fail to acknowledge your efforts sufficiently. I hope you will realise how much I admire what you do, and how deeply appreciated your contribution is.

This article, especially, deserves significant commendation as an indication of how much ambiguity and equivocation there was in the interpretation of the campaign.

Regards , Phil

Larry,

Phil is right, all lovers of history wish we could look into what actually happened back then, 1st hand accounts? Your newspaper's of the day posts, allow us to look back! (a definite thanks for that!) This article shows the Southern perception that Lee did not lose at Gettysburg, it's all in the interpretation back then! (really enlightening) Also thanks for the ads from back then, it will help my Black Friday shopping!?
My brother loves Cuban Cigars, & my wife's best friend has horses the horse rub will make a great gift!

Cheers,
Dave

Larry,

Another Thanks for your posts. Interesting reading from newspapers of the day. Seems inbound freight on the North Carolina Coast is arriving at least at the time of the printing.

Blockade runners finding a way to make a profit.
