Letter from the 7th OVI.

Published in the Western Reserve Chronicle, Warren Ohio, July 15,1863.

James H. Merrill

18 years old.

Enlisted on 6/20/1861 as a Private.

On 6/20/1861 he mustered into "H" Co. OH 7th Infantry
He was Killed on 11/27/1863 at Ringgold, GA


Buried: Chattanooga National Cemetery, Chattanooga, TN

Wow, another report suggesting Longstreet had been killed at Gettysburg. I wonder who the Union soldiers really saw get killed who looked like Longstreet?

IIRC General Armistead was mistaken for General Longstreet.
