Siege Of Jadotville
Posted on: 11/5/2016 10:50:33 AM
Only recently been made aware of this engagement by a film being released recently.

A UN force comprising a company of Irish soldiers in the Congo defending a poorly sited/fortified compound against an attack of overwhelming numbers of mercenaries and African troops. It reminded me so much of the scenario at Rorke's Drift.

There are articles, etc., on the net, but hoping to get a couple of books about it.

Thanks for mentioning this Fenrir. Does the film go into the "murder" of DAG Hammerskjold on his way to the peace negotiations?

I've only seen the trailer of it and a few clips on youtube, so no sure if it ventures into the politics involved.
