Garry Adelman was kind enough to share some high resolution Gettysburg images with me through The Center for Civil War Photography so as I go through them I'll pick out a few that might be interesting to share with the membership here.
I found this one curious for the stone enclosure at the base of the rock formation(between the signs). I'd never seen that before and was surprised as to its purpose. Does anyone care to venture a guess ?
There was no date with this image but if you know your vintage cars (I don't) you may be able to hazard a guess.

I can't imagine a use. Interesting that the rock wall follows the contour of the boulder. Is that a clue?
I also don't know about the car Larry, but any car in the '30's could put the photo into the '40's with no production during the war years.

Emergency rain / picnic shelter
Cheers and thanks for sharing these old ones, Mike.
No guess on the car though; I'll leave that to some of our vintage members.

And I was sure that in your second, original shot, there is what appears to be an old fashioned picnic basket in there!!
Maybe the sandwiches were stale...
Cheers Ed

I think the grill on the car in Mike's photo is more upright, so it's probably an earlier model than this one.

I paid close attention to the winged hood ornament and side window shape:

Thanks Again Ken
