Might this be at the corner of the fenceline that is along the south side of Chambersburg Pike, at the western boundry?

It is not on the western side. There were actually 2 clues in my last post; if you read it again, you might find it. I will check back in later and offer another clue.

This is fun! (That's my wife speaking.)

I'll eliminate another possibility by guessing Stevens' Knoll.

Ken,
I think I see your 2 clues, plus the fact that it's not on the western side. Now to put them all together.......

So Ironic refers to the Iron Brigade, and first post refers to the First Day, so I am guessing this is in the Herbst Woods area...somewhere....

Mike's got it! This is the boundary marker in front of the Iron Brigade's line on Steven's Knoll. I'd like to say how impressed I am with the knowledge of the game's players. My original post was a closeup of the marker, and I thought I had a full shot, but cannot locate. The additional photos show the area it is located and I will post the full location shot tomorrow after I return from the battlefield. I've got plenty of pictures; whether I have plenty of answers remains to be seen. Thanks everyone for letting us (the wife and myself) play.

I'll guess a view of the 20th Maine position on Vincent's Spur, from Wright Ave.

Close, but not quite. Ed has sent me a PM with the correct answer.

Think again, the view is from a "road less traveled" (with apologies to Robert Frost)

I guess it's time to give tha answer to this one.

This is a view looking up at the 20th Maine's left flank taken from Chamberlain Ave. Here's the full view with the 20th's monument hiding in the trees on the left and the left flank marker above the large rock on the right. Chamberlain Ave. is (of course) in the foreground.

Ed "civilwarguyincanada" was first with the correct answer, soooo Ed You're up.

Here's one that might be way too easy, or way too hard.
I suspect most people will get it.

Where is this?

First sharp bend to the right on Hunt Ave from Baltimore Pike going to Taneytown Rd. New VC will be off to the left, and left of the tree on the left

This area saw action on nearly all three days.

Nearly three days...at least as I understand the battle.

And the woods were there then too, but perhaps a little less dense.

Well,

By PM I also was "good company" guessing East Conf. Ave. and we were all incorrect, but since this saw action on all three days I'd have to go with Culp's Hill, somewhere near the top. It doesn't look like Slocum Ave. so I'll go with "Williams in the Morning" just to give it a musical theme.

Ed, have fun in Savannah, and if it's close to midnight stay away from the Garden of Good and Evil.

Culps Hill is my guess too, but where exactly?

I'm thinking somewhere on Colgrove Ave.

It's actually looking north east toward where Carman and Colgrove meet. The one-way sign is just off frame to the right. And the 13th NJ is just around that corner.

I loved the look of the sun streaking through the mist that morning.

You and Bill both got it!

Over to one of you.
