The Official Records of the War of the Rebellion online

Sheer dumb luck led me to this website: Portal To Texas History (texashistory.unt.edu).
If what I see is right, it has the entire set of the OR for both the armies and navies.
The easiest way to access the army records seems to be a search for "The War of the Rebellion - Army Records".
As far as Gettysburg buffs are concerned, all three parts of Series 1, Volume 27 are available, as well as an 8 page errata.
Each volume is searchable by whatever keyword(s) you want, a definite plus.
Unlike Google Books, the volumes cannot be downloaded as PDFs, but individual pages can be printed out or saved as PDFs. (I prefer to use a utility called Screenhunter to make JPEGs of the screen images.)
It looks like this will become my go-to for using this source.

Cornell [Read More] and Ohio State [Read More] also have full indexes - along with the atlas - both of which I used extensively for years before breaking down and buying various volumes.

I will say this - once I actually had Vol. 27 in my hands (as opposed to using the on-line versions), my understanding of the Battle of Gettysburg took a big leap forward.

Regards,
Scott B.
