Enlisted as a Pvt. in CO C of the 11th and 17th Arkansas Consolidated Regiments 7 Jan 1863 at Washington, AR. His CMSR shows him on sick leave in 1863. May,1865 he surrendered with his unit at Citronella, AL. Paroled at Jackson, MS.on 13 May 1865.
