John Mathis Holland was my great grandfather. He enlisted Company K, Bartow Avengers, in Dawson, Terrell County, GA on May 12, 1862. He was listed as a prisoner of war, surrendered at Citronelle, Alabama May 4, 1865 & paroled at Meridian, Mississippi. May 16, 1865.

Lt Jacob Witt Da Vault
50th Virginia Infantry - Co. B  
Lt. DaVault served from the beginning of the war including the battles of Fort Donelson, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg and the Wilderness before being captured defending the 'horsehoe' in battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse on May 12, 1864 and sent to Elmira Prison until he was released in July, 1865.

Andrew C. Thomas enlisted as a Private in Rusk, Cherokee County, TX on April 7, 1862 for 3 yrs. service. He joined Capt. Thomas R. Bonner’s Company, W.B. Ochiltree’s Regiment of Texas Volunteers (which subsequently became Company C., 18th regiment Texas Infantry). Booth's books says he enlisted 2 Dec 1861 at Camp Chalmette and was present on all rolls to June 1862. He was also on the roll for September and October 1862, discharged at Moccasin, TN, and paid off. His stepson Private William B. On his widow's application for a pension she claimed (as supported by a statement by another soldier who served with him) that he also served in Ogden's Battalion under Lt. Co. Fred N.
