Name: William M JohnsonRank: Private Company: K

In June 1861, William M Johnson enlisted at Camp McDonald, Cobb County Georgia with his brother (James A.) and father (John P). He served throughout the war. In his pension application, he stated that he left service after he was released from Libby Prison in 1865. I suspect that he may have have been captured during the Battle of Saylor's Creek on April 6, 1861. Richmond had fallen a few days earlier and Libby Prison was used by the Union troops to hold captured Confederate soldiers.
