Thomas Jefferson Grogan served for 3 years, and about 2 weeks before the war ended he was discharged because of illness. He was wounded in one of the battles, and this could have been the reason for the discharge. He suffered from the wound in his leg for the rest of his life. He moved to Bloomburg, TX in 1876 and was married to Mary Elizabeth Lummus. They are both burried in Salem Cemetery west of Bloomburg. He was the son of John Grogan, Jr. and Lucy Holcombe Grogan.
