Newton, nickname Bunk, served with his brother James Tipton De Arman in this unit and the 8th Alabama Calvary. He also served at the Camp of Instruction at Talladega Alabama. Both Brothers are buried at the De Armanville Methodist Church Cemetery at De Armanville, Alabama, Calhoun County, which was Benton County during the war. Both brothers survived the war.
