From Company 'K', 66th Indiana Infantry Regiment Muster Out Roll, 3 Jun 1865 and combined Service Records: James R. Anderson, On 19 Aug 1862 Muster Roll: Enrolled on 25 Jul 1862 for three years at Vienna, Indiana, 33 years old, born Scott Co, Indiana, 5 feet, 8½ inches tall, blue eyes, light hair, farmer, Mustered-In at New Albany, Indiana. Enlisted 7 Oct 1862, Certificate of Disability: 25 Oct 1862 Nov and Dec 1862: Absent, sick, at home in Clark Co, Indiana Jan and Feb 1863: Sick, at home March and April 1863: In Convalescent Barracks, Memphis, Tennessee. Died 11 Apr 1863, Memphis, Tennessee. Jefferson General Hospital was located on 2nd Street at the corner of Adams. James R. Anderson, born circa 1829, from original Pension Records, National Archives: James R. Anderson married Nancy Vanover 23 Sep 1850. He died of chronic diarrhea (dysentery) on 11 Apr 1863 in Jefferson General Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee. Nancy was 32 years old when James died. Nancy later married Robert H. Rayburn/Rayborn on 4 Jun 1865, Scott Co, Indiana. Certificate # 117762, dated 26 Aug 1868, filed at Madison Agency, Indiana: $8.00 a month commencing 5 Jun 1865 + $2.00 per child until each one's 16th birthday, commencing 25 Jul 1866 and ending 6 Dec 1872. Certificate sent to claimant at Vienna, Indiana. Certificate # 125570. Zebulon F. Collings had custody of Mary Adeline Anderson born 27 Jul 1857. Robert H. Rayborn (Rayburn) had custody of William Cornelius born 13 Apr 1853 and Sarah Elizabeth Anderson born 7 Dec 1856.
