Engagements: Mobile, Reseca, Nashville, then Kinston and Bentonville. At New Hope Church the losses were heavy. Near Atlanta, half of the regiment was killed or wounded. Less than 90 men remaining from the regiment surrendered on April 26, 1865 at Greensboro, NC.
Wounded: Atlanta, Georgia, July 22, 1864 Badly wounded at Kennesaw Mountain, Ga. June 18, 1864; transferred to Barbour County Aug 1, 1864.
Loss of Right arm, other injuries

He and his father, Benjamin Lewis, enlisted in the same unit; however, his father was dead by May 30, 1862. Two other brothers enlisted in different units.
Henry Harrison Lewis, 'Tobe,' was born Feb. 4, 1839 and died Oct 10, 1914 in Barbour County, Ala. He is buried in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery, NW of Louisville, Barbour County, AL.
