Binder: Vol. 4 Part 2 ( Terrell County Library) Reminiscences of the Confederate Veterans of Terrell County, Ga. W. S. Marshall said on October 11, 1911 he enlisted at Weston, Ga., August 1861under Capt J. H. Pickett, Co. K 17th Ga. Regt. The Minutes of 'The Terrell County Camp of United Confederate Veterans, listed him as joining March 3,1862. Thomas J. McLendon brother of William A Mclendon joined March 3, 1862. William A. McLendon enlisted in Weston, Ga. on August 15, 1861 and died on May 25, 1864 of wounds on May 6, 1864 at the Wilderness. Died at the General Hospital #3 at Lynchburg, Va. Buried in Old City Cemetery.
