|31st Georgia Infantry (CSA) |
|Name: Thomas R. White||Rank: Private ||Company: D |
Thomas R. White (1836-1891) was born in Monroe County, GA, the son of Edward White and Elvira Fambrough. He enlisted in Forsyth, May 8, 1862, and served until April 9, 1865 when he was included in the surrender at Appomattox Court House, VA.
The life and military service of my great-great grandfather inspired me to research and write the regimental history:
''A History of the 31st Georgia Volunteer Infantry'', published in 1997 by: Butternut And Blue

Baltimore, MD 21234
The 31st Georgia belonged to the Lawton-Gordon-Evans brigade, Second Corps, Army of Northern Virginia - CSA.
