'I did a check of his CSA service records and he died of Rubella, now commonly known as German measles, with no mention of any wounds. Lynchburg had a huge hospital complex of over a dozen major hospitals, because it had numerous tobacco warehouses and an access point to the railroad. Most of the soldiers who died there died of disease.' Dale Nichols expert historian from above website. Records back up what Dale says above. Very doubtful he died from wounds when death records clearly state rubeola but may have taken part in the battles below. May have participated in Battle of Gaines Mill or Malvern Hill. Unit took heavy fire during these battles and were asked to charge the enemy. They took heavy losses though they bravely carried out this attack.
