From my dads research he was in Co. C. Also from his notes he was wounded in the head at the battle of Port Hudson and lost the end of a finger. A silver plate was emplaced due to head injury. From a 1921 census of Conf. Soldiers shows he was discharged in June '63. and drawing a pension #16217. My research finds he enlisted on 2 Jan 62 in Guntersville. Was in Co. 'E' when captured on 9 Jul 63 at Port Hudson, La. Appeared on a roll of POW's paroled at Port Hudson dated 12,13 Jul 63 and 15 Jul 63. Appeared on a list of 'sick and wounded (paroled) to be sent to their homes via New Orleans and Mobile' dated 31 Jul 63, HQ Port Hudson.
