Thomason LM on Nov. 1, 1863 Courier or messenger for unit: He told the story of being a message runner and one day three Union soldiers spotted him and gave chase. He jumped into a creek which flowed into Donigan’s Slough, just above Stenson’s Hollow in Muscle Shoals, AL. He hid in the creek all night and was able to get away the next morning. Deserted or captured Feb 4, 1864 Born 11 Oct. 1833 Died 20April 1920 Buried at Florence Cemetery, Section P3, Row 14
