Burial at Barfield-Shepherd Cemeteries, Whitewater Creek (Macon County GA), off GA. 127 --- November 11, 1863, a number of men were transferred between Co.A of the 10th Batn to and from Co.B of the 22nd GA Batn Heavy Artillery: 'Adjutant & Inspector General's Office, Richmond, November 11, 1863. Special Orders No. 268'....para. XIX. 'The following named privates are mutually transferred each to the others command, all parties consenting, provided no expense to the Confederate States be thereby incurred: J.B. Barfield, Company A, Tenth Battalion Georgia Volunteers; A.B. Edge, Company B, Twenty-second Battalion Georgia Artillery.' Jesse Bud Barfield Obituary: From The Butler Herald: Volume 29, # 11, January 17, 1905 J. B. Barfield died at his home on Monday. Had a stroke of paralysis. Was 65 years of age. Leaves wife and 5 sons and 2 daughters, Messrs. William, Berry, John, Thomas, and Monroe Barfield. Miss Mary Eliza[Liza] and Mrs. Isiah[Isaac] Barfield.
