Unit Type

16th Georgia Infantry (CSA)
Ancestor Info
Name: William Walker FittsRank: Private Company: D

Enlisted as a private May 14, 1862. Never sick; never furloughed. Killed at the 'Bloody Angle' Battle of Spotsylvania Court House May 12, 1864. For those descendants who are interested in more information about the 16th GA, feel free to contact me. Their regimental history is impressive! They were involved in most of the major battles of the eastern theater and one of the few regiments that also fought in major battles of the west. I am doing research for a book which will be about the 16th GA and include info on men from all 10 companies. If you'd like your ancestor included, feel free to submit a short bio. Thanks :-)
