My paternal great, great, great grandfather was Thomas Arter Smith. He also went by T.M.A. Smith. He is believed to have died in Virginia, possibly the Shenandoah Valley on July 12, 1864. I have been searching online to find where he is buried. Anyone have an idea of where a soldier that died at this time in this area might be buried? Anyone have a similar case and know where your relative is buried?
