Enlisted 16 Dec 1861 as a Private in Company 'K', 10th Regiment, Georgia State Troops. Mustered out in May 1862. Enlisted 17 May 1862 as a private in Company 'F', 34th Georgia Infantry. Captured at Baker's Creek, (Champion's Hill), 16 May 1863. Recived at Ft Delaware 9 June 1863. Died 21 June 1863 at Ft Delaware Military Prison, Pea Patch Island, DE. Buried across the Delaware River in Finn's Point National Cemetery, Salem, Salem, New Jersey. Had two older brothers also in CSA Army; James, 1st KY Cav then to 6th KY Cav and Samuel, 6th Alabama Infantry
