SSgt Ray A. Yoder's photos while he served with an engineering battalion
attached to Stilwell's Army, charged with building the Ledo Road. This
unit took part in the battle for Mitchina. Most of these were taken in
the vicinity of Pegu and/or Mitchina.

temple ruins. Much of this was not the result of battle, but settlements
abandoned in antiquity. The jungles of Burma, Thailand, and India are dotted
with abandoned towns.
