With these articles on Lee's retreat after Gettysburg, back across the Potomac, & across the mason Dixon, back into the South. The invasion thwarted, victory at Gettysburg, that the Union brain trust would be happy!? Afterall it isn't every day that you defeat Robert E.Lee!?

Why weren't they satisfied??
What say you?

Just my guess here but it's easier to command an army and fight a battle if your in an office in DC instead of knee deep in horseshit, mud and blood.

Larry.
