Hi Larry,

As we previously discussed Harper's Ferry was virtually impossible to defend!? It makes you wonder if anyone, either side ever tried laying a trap? Leaving a token force in town, while having a build up of troops nearby ready to spring?? What say you?

Regards,
MD

Hi Larry,

The intriguing reference to fifteen hundred dead “ in one piece of woods” implies an allusion to Antietam.

West Woods sector comes to mind.

Please would you ( if able) expand the survey of the article to reveal this passage ?

Regards, Phil
