Any ideas on what is happening with the sudden rash of balloons/UFO's over North America?

China admits to launching the balloons. They're IFOs.

Larry, my question is why official statements by various US spokespersons seem to be vague (and, IMHO, stumblingly delvered), acronym-ridden and contradictory.

I’m not one who believes the US military should have shot down the balloon earlier. But given the lack of information about this second intrusion, I might be one who wishes the US military had tracked and observed this object at least until they could tell civilians what it is before destroying it. Right now, various spokespersons are sounding like blithering idiots, which is not their function or their job.

Cheers

What the hell! Larry, which incident are you talking about. Seems there has been yet another intrusion on 11.02.23 which involves Canadian territory. My last comment was based on a now-earlier intercept of a UFO. Now there is another, or so it seems. Canadian press (and our PM) are talking about an F-22 shooting down “something” in Canadian territory (Yukon). Don’t yet know what to make of this.

Cheers

Larry.

Smells like China I think.
I am guessing all these baloons were released about the same time, and that they have been cruising at different speeds/altitudes so they reach NA airspace at different times.

Purpose? Anyone's guess I think but 1. to test US&North American response and 2.to draw attention away from Russia&Ukraine might beon the list at least.

Retired 4-Star General Jack Keane, Chairman of The Institute For the Study Of War, laid out the case that....there were five balloons that entered US air Space that went undetected when Trump was in office, and in fact were not detected until this most recent balloon incursion caused them to go back and study the China Balloon operations. Two of them even entered air space over Florida and Texas. He opined that they came from the Southern hemisphere, from both eastern approach and Western approach, and the fact that we didn`t detect them in real time is of great seriousness and deep concern. That we did finally detect the large balloon that was shot down off the South Carolina coast ( after it had completed it`s mission) was because it approached from the more expected Northern most approach but it should have been shot down as soon as it intruded on US airspace. He assesses that it is testing the limits, the weaknesses, and the effectiveness of US and NORAD detection capabilities concerning other than supersonic and ballistic missile objects.

It is a very big deal!

As a US citizen, I find myself more and more...not just concerned, but angry about the lack of anger and action of US companies, corporations, and the current leadership to treat China as a dangerous adversary...as opposed to a competitor. We have witnessed the expression from the Commander and Chief that this has no effect on US-China relations ( he said that in a PBS interview.) We have billions of Chinese Communist monies pouring into US business and industry to form "partnerships" which is just another word for spying and intellectual property theft, and we lost over one million of our citizens to a virus that came from China, that China and the WHO lied about and refused to provide importantly needed data that they had on the illness.....and none of our leaders ( with few exceptions) seem to have the slightest curiosity about investigating and holding any entity to account. One million dead, a strong and vibrant economy shut down and damaged, children denied a decent education for two damn years........ah, no big deal. Hell, our current leadership directed more ire at US citizens who dared to ask questions about the vaccines, the effectiveness, or lack there of from wearing masks...and questioning the power-mad dictates that had little to do with actual science...and was more about control...than they ever have about China`s involvement in the plaque in the first place!

What I see in the NBA, the US movie and film industry, the US tech companies, and US political leaders taking bribes from communist China, and siding with a very potential enemy of this country....is outright betrayal of ethics, human rights, common sense, and the safety and security of this country! When are the people, in mass going to rise up against this dereliction of duty, and turncoat love of China money.

It`s a very big fricken deal!

Respects, Morris

Now it's four UFO's shot down. Getting pretty regular.

This one is interesting.
Would this mean they were launched from Cuba or perhaps Venezuela? Or a ship perhaps?

Now some in the US military hierarchy aren't ruling out that the objects are of extraterrestrial origin. I'd like to know their pay grade!

Clearly, the objects are Chinese, but the US military / intel don't what the hell they are. The best guess is some sort of hi-tech stealth observation balloon / device that they haven't seen before. It's interesting to note that the Chinese are defending their actions by stating the US has invaded its airspace with similar devices in the past year.

Ultimately, I think the objective was to test US defences and maybe rattle up some controversy. In that, they have succeeded.

Cheers,

Colin

Agree, probably with 95% certainty Chinese, with the odd 5% chance that there may turn out to be cyrillic writing on the inside.

group,

1 the previous guy did nothing useful covid wise!
2 Same guy loved China & No Korea too, Fact! See video below.

"One million dead, a strong and vibrant economy shut down” – its called a once in
100 years pandemic – like earth quake, hurricane, tornado – act of god! Reinforced by modern air travel China to US in less than 24 hours! Dooh!

“current leadership directed more ire at US citizens who dared to ask questions about the vaccines, the effectiveness, or lack there of from wearing masks...and questioning the power-mad dictates”
3 you’re entitled to your own opinion but science and the present guy helped combat covid in spite of the panic malarkey of some.
Dooh! vaccines work, fact!

Before polio vaccines became available in the 1950s, polio outbreaks caused more than 15,000 cases of paralysis in the United States each year—and 2 to 10% of children. (=30,000 2023) My Brother had mild polio, luckily he got better! Thanks to widespread vaccination, the United States has been polio-free since 1979.

Smallpox once killed 3 out of every 10 people who contracted it. The disease was eliminated in North America and Europe in the 1950s.

The U.S. initiated a rubella vaccination program in 1969, and now, fewer than 10 cases of rubella are reported in the U.S. each year. During the United States’ last major rubella outbreak (1964-1965), an estimated 12.5 million people got rubella, 11,000 pregnant women lost their babies.

Before pertussis vaccines were recommended for all infants, whooping cough was a common (and scary) childhood disease: About 8,000 people in the U.S. died annually from whooping cough—most of them infants.

And ten more, Pneumococcal disease, Haemophilus influenzae type b, Hepatitis A and B, Tetanus, Measles, Rotavirus, Varicella (chickenpox), Diphtheria, Mumps. Also, all military personnel are vaccinated multiple times. And that’s not opinion, fact!

Today anti-vaccine stuff, in the face of such a factual record smacks of being poorly informed or willful ignorance.
Yes, just my opinion.
Note: “current leadership” vs “previous guy” = fair and balanced not partisan.

Well...thanks Mike for making my point about so many of my fellow citizens who don`t seem to care or question China ( and the WHO) about the lies, deceit, the holding back of pertinent data...the WHO telling the world that Covid -19 was not transmissible " because China said so" and instead back up into the usual political corners and shooting inside our tent!

I am tired of people covering for China, either intentionally so or not.

Yes it is just your opinion. Doesn`t make it true or fact. But entitled to it.

And my opinion is that WE should demand more answers, and take more seriously the adversary that is Communist China, but if Californians love what you went through for two years....and loosing people to state`s that are more reasoned and have more common sense....fine with me!

Chinese megalomania is hard to subvert. Their beliefs are that there is Heaven, below that China, below that everybody else. China is the Middle Kingdom.

So......it increasingly looks as if the US allowed a Chinese Surveillance Balloon to traverse the country, lingering over a multitude of sensitive military sites, until being shot down AFTER completing its mission.

And then, in reacting to criticism, used a $400,000+ missile to destroy a $12-$15 hobby balloon.

A bit like reacting to criticism that the Afghan men and their4 families who helped the US military in Afghanistan would be, along with US citizens, the priority to air-lift out...and then leaving most of them behind.....we react by trying to make it "the largest air-lift ever." The result being thousands of UN-vetted Afghans, many who had nothing to do with assisting us, being prioritized instead.

The 13 Marines get killed...and we then make a big splash of getting revenge on a "Taliban target" involved in the killings...which turned out to be an aid relief worker ( and 7 or 8 children) who was transporting home some potable water.

Now...we over-react to criticism by blowing hobby balloons out of the sky.

It would not surprise me if one of the as-yet UN-identified objects turns out to be a large balloon in the shape of a bull moose...attached to a smaller balloon in the shape of squirrel, ordered to be shot down by a graduate of Whats A Mater U!

It absolutely wasn't time for the spooks to collect data on the balloon and test nonlethal interdictions.

Absolutely.
