The book "Fire and Fortitude: The US Army in the Pacific War, 1941-1943" looks at the U.S. Army in the 1st two years of the Pacific in World War II.
Very good book. The actions of the Army in he Pacific are often not given their fair share of attention. 20 some U.S. Army divisions fought in the war against Japan.
The author John C. McManus is planning a second book covering the end of the war.
