We could only get through half o Part 3 of Ken Burns' The Holocaust and the United States. Again, too intense imagery and too many facts to comprehend, as to the magnitude of the Germans assault on the Jews and the rest of occupied Europe.
I am convinced now more than ever, that not only is the US a racist country, and anti-semitic, but that it is also nativistic. It seems that all groups who immigrate to the New World/United States, don't want any other groups coming here. And this started with the Pilgrims.
The question as to whether the US could have done more tov European Jewery is a difficult one to answer. State Department officials certainly prevented refugees from coming here, because of anti-semitism and quotas. And much of the blame has to be directed towards them.
Burns presents data that show that even before one US serviceman set foot on the European Continent, 75% of the Jews who were going to be murdered, had already been put to death. 90% of the murders occurred in NE Europe, beyond the range of any US solders and aircraft.
Now once the US occupied airbases in Italy, Auschwitz did come within range of aircraft. But the question became, how many Jews would be killed in bombing the railways and Auschwitz?

Let's review American History.
e
1. Afro-Americans came unwillingly to the New World as slaves in 1619. After 250 years, they gained their freedom. After another 100 years, they received their rights under the US Constitution given to them after the 15th Amendment.
2. Jews were denied visas during World War II to come to the US because many feared that the Jews would take jobs away from Americans. At Charlottesville, the White Supremacists chanted, the Jews shallot replace us.
3. The KKK was anti-Black, Anti-Catholic, and Anti-semitic.
4. Irish need not apply was the policy when the Irish started coming ot the US during the 1840s.
I learned this when I took the advanced course in American History.

I went to Purdue after retiring from the USN. When I finally exited Purdue I had ~$100,000 in student loans. I agreed to do certain work for the Navy and my loans were written off.

One can use the phrase," I am convinced that [fill in the blank] is a racist, antisemitic , nativist etc. etc. etc. because slavery and bigotry has existed in every nation in history, and every culture. I didn`t watch all of this doc, but I did surf over towards the end, when Burns is rapping up his story. He continues the meme that only the white folks are the practitioners and such racism and antisemitism today. Don`t think if anyone actually pays attention to the plethora of security camera footage of hundreds of vicious assaults on Asians in this country, who then conclude that it was white supremacists doing the sucker punching and throwing down stairs, and shooting on buses.... in fact, its a lot of black on Asian crime.
The immigrant Irish were the worst on killing blacks during the New York draft riots in 1863. The American Indians, as well as Mexico`s natives used captives as slaves, and harasses and bullies over being of a different tribe. Bloody Knife, Custer`s favorite scout was born of a mixed tribe , was raised by his mother`s Sioux, but they humiliated him and insulted him for his mixed status....thus why he was willing to aid the US cavalry in killing Sioux.
We should be fair and truthful in history...and not just provide memes.

Morris...a couple off points....
1.While news reports and social media have perpetuated the idea that anti-Asian violence is committed mostly by people of color, a new analysis shows the majority of attackers are white.
Janelle Wong, a professor of American Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, released analysis last week that drew on previously published studies on anti-Asian bias. 2. I always thought that it was the slave owners who were the worst at killing slaves.
3. It was white supremacists who were doing the lynching of Blacks in the 19th Century and continued it in the 20th century.
4. It was whites who murdered successful Blacks in Tulsa Oklahoma during the race massacre in 1921.
So yes, we should be fair and truthful in telling our History.

For the past two years, we have been misled, misinformed, and outright lied to by professors, doctors, CDC, NIH, and WHO....we have witnessed censorship of anyone who questioned their lies and misinformation....so, personally, I don`t trust professors, so-called journalists, or congress members as far as they can be thrown. In fact, that would be too far.
If you want to be trusted and respected, then you gotta be fair, objective, and tell the damn truth, not propagandize.
What do I trust? What I see with my own eyes, or basic information that I then analogize and reach reasoned conclusions of, and what I see almost everyday is some black assault an Asian on the streets somewhere, and four years back, during a rash of Jewish cemetery vandalism, the culprits were, for the most part, black( one guy even confessed and blamed his headstone breaking on a break-up with his girl friend.)
Two good examples Burns could have used of antisemitism was Charlotteville, which he used, and Crown Heights. In Virginia a woman was run over and killed by a racist white....in Crown Heights a young Jewish student from Australia was drug to the ground and beat to death, and another young man was suspected of being Jewish and was beaten to death...though he tur5ned out not to be a Jew.....done by blacks stoked up by Al Sharpton. Burns didn`t want to go there did he?

Where have you been? The information we received about the Pandemic has been as accurate as possible. Over 1 million dead Americans attest to the severity of the Pandemic.
Last I checked, Medicine is an art and not a science.

I`ve been right here....listening to how if you get vaccinated you won`t get Covid. If you get the vaccine and three or four boosters...you won`t get Covid. That Covid is an illness of the Un-vaccinated....all while the vaccinated got Covid. If you didn`t want to get stuck with an experimental drug...then in the midst of a worker shortage...you get to loose your job! The WHO shilled for China and lied to us when they said that it could not be transmitted human to human. Cloth masks and surgical masks a of little use except cosmetics, but then Fauci originally said we didn`t need them...before he then said we should wear three or four. That`s where I`ve been...where the hell have you been?

No one said that you won't get Covid if you are vaccinated. What they said was, the vaccine would protect you from having a more serious case of Covid.
The flu shot doesn't prevent you from getting the flu..it prevents the more serious manifestations.
The Covid virus mutated into a more virulent form, hence the development of further vaccines.
Fauci was worried that health care workers would not have enough masks to protect them from the virus.
I've been checking the facts looking for the truth. What the hell have you been doing?

And if Fauci wanted to be trusted and repsected, he should have told the truth...explained to the people he works for that masks were needed for healthcare professionals and not to hord them...he just lied about it. You don`t get respect, you have to earn it.

Fauci did tell the truth. Facts are...things change, and as more evidence was studied, the seriousness of the Pandemic made Fauci adjust his advice.
Covid is a virus, and viruses mutate.

Some reporters do tell us facts, but some reporters report factually flawed information. Some do this intentionally to push an agenda, while some do it because they're in a rush and don't bother to check things.
Reporters and newspapers are then well known for reporting big stuff on page 1 and correcting themselves (if they ever do) on the bottom of page 50.
We shouldn't generalize that all reporters are false, nor should we generalize that they're all purveying truth. It's a very mixed bag and the definition of 'reporter' is, itself, quite nebulous.
It's foolish to assume that all reporters have the standards of Walter Cronkite -- they don't and that's why they're not trusted like he was.

I just finished part 3 of the Holocaust and the United States.
What I got out of it, was that the ideas of Nazism have to be confronted and defeated, as they continue to have a hold here in the United States. And we must confront those who say the Holocaust never occurred, with the facts that it was real and that 6 million Jews were murdered.
