Battle of Saratoga

Yesterday, I spent the afternoon walking the Saratoga Battlefield.

This time of year, with the foliage about week past "peak", and a nice cool sunny day, it was a nice to celebrate the American victory over the invading British.

I always make it a point to visit the field fortifications built by the Polish Military engineer, Kosciusko , and to pay my respects to his Monument. Many years ago, my Mom contributed to this Monument.

I also paid my respects tot he monument of Timothy Murphy who with his rifle, mortally wounds British General Frasier, thus turning the tide of Battle in favor of the the Americans. This was the Battle which brought France into the War on the side of the Americans.

Sounds like a great visit.
