Benjamin was b. 1846/47 and d. 4/21/1920 in Cherokee Co., AL. He was married 3 times: Catherine TEAGUE 1865 Bradley Co., TN and had 3 children - she died 1875 in Roane Co., TN; Judith A. 'Juda' DEAN 1876 Polk Co., TN, had 2 children and she died 1887 in Cave Springs, Floyd Co., GA; Mary Ann RUCKS 1888 Cherokee Co., AL, had one son and which is where she died 1931. Benjamin John ROBERTS is buried at Arrington Chapel Cem., Pleasant Gap, Cherokee Co., AL. Ben and his brother, James H. Dunigan ROBERTS both enlisted into Co. C of Thomas Legion over in Murphy, NC shortly after their father, Elisha ROBERTS b 1810 Clark Co., GA, had left their home in Polk Co., TN to enlist into Co. A Thomas Legion CSA up in Loudon, TN. Later all 3 served together in Co. C until Elisha died in 1863. Almost immediately thereafter, Ben and James re-enlisted into 3rd Mtd Inf. USA. Benjamin's mother was Lethia CLIAN-ROBERTS.
