Benton Burford Ayers is the son of William Russell Ayers & Susan Mitchel Burford. (M226Roll 3)Ayers, Benton B.- private March 4, 1862. 'Appears as wounded prisoner in Hospital of 2nd Division, 20th Army Corps, Army of Cumberland, remarks: wounded, Resaca, Ga. May 15, 1864 ; injury, neck, nature, slight.' No later record.
