James Clarence Terry, Jr born 27 February 1837 Edgefield Co, SC died 1913 Lake Co, FL buried Confederate section of the Old City Cem, Jacksonville, Duval Co, FL (plat 14, grave#31). Son of James Clarence Terry, Sr & Mary Ann Simpson Hutchinson. First married Jane A. 'Jennie' Murray (18 July 1844 - Abt. November 1873) on 27 February 1858 at the residence of R. Allen Smith, Fayette Co, AL by R.A. Smith (Judge of Probate). From Combined Service Record - James C. Terry, pvt, Co I, 11th AL Inf, CSA. Enlisted 11-JUN-61 at Fayette Cty, AL by Capt. George Traweek (Trawick) for: 'During the War.' Appears on a report of casualties, of the 4th Brigade, Longstreet's Division, in the action at Gaines' Mill, Va. June 27, 1862 . Report not dated. Appears on a Register of Chimborazo Hospital No. 3, Richmond, VA. Disease: Shell in the Knee. Admitted: June, 29, 1862. Returned to duty: June, 29, 1862 (Confed. Arch. Chap. 6, File No. 105, page 5). Appears on a Register of General Hospital, Petersburg, VA - Complaint: Vial Sofet? Admitted: July 10, 1864. Furloughed : 60 days Aug. 17, 1864. Sep-Oct 1864 - Absent - Last paid : ...by B .L. McInis. To what time: 1-JAN-64. Remarks: wounded while on Provost Guard and sent to hosp't.
