Enlisted July 3, 1861 in Brundidge Guards from Pike Co., AL. Included on Appomattox Roster as P.L. MINSHEN. One of the older sons of John and Harriett Minshew. Resided in Barbour, Dale and/or Pike Counties in AL prior to 1880. Relocated to Camp Co.,TX before being enumerated in 1880 census there. Residence mentioned in September 1883 Troy, AL newspaper article as Pittsburg, TX. In Camp Co. tax records until 1891. Died May 4, 1895. Interment location unknown at present. Transcripted service record below: Present: Winchester 1862/05/02, Cross Keys 1862/06/08, Cold Harbor 1862/06/27, Malvern Hill 1862/07/02, Cedar Mountain 1862/08/09. Absent Sick: Hazel River 1862/08/23 to Shepherds-town 1862/09/19. Present: Fredericksburg 1862/12/13. Absent Sick: Suffolk Engage. 1863/05/03 to Battle Mountain 1863/07/24.
