Brother of my Great great Grandmother, Elizabeth Coin Kuykendall,(Wife of Spear Fort Kuykendall).Youmgest of three brothers to serve in the 34th Georgia Inf.,( Joseph, Thomas, and John). John enlisted as a private in Company 'K', 10th Reg.,Georgia State Troops 16 Dec 1861. Mustered out May 1862. Enlisted as a private in Company 'F', 34th Regiment, Georgia Infantry 17 May 1862. Captured at Edward's Station 17 May 1863 as a Sgt. in Company 'F', 34th Georgia. Exchanged at Ft Delaware, DE, on 4 July 1863. Also had two older brothers in Confederate Service; James Coin, 1st Kentucky Cavalry then to the 6th Kentucky Cavalry and Samuel D Coin, 6th Alabama Infantry
