Company C
Reuben QueenRank Unknown
Reuben's enlistment into the Union 2nd Cavalry, Company C, lists his place of birth as Bedford Co. TN. Reuben is listed in the 'ROLL OF HONOR' who died in Defense of the American Union. He was originally interred in the Christ Church Cemetery at St. Louis, but moved to the National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks, MO, ten miles south of St. Louis and 704 feet west of the Mississippi River (in 1869 that was the location of the cemetery). Most of the Union soldiers in that cemetery died in hospitals in St. Louis, MO. Reuben is in Section #48, grave #150. He died Feb. 23, 1863 of Typhoid Fever.

Evidence that Reuben is James brother, they enlisted together AND on a postal card (from the 1860's) sent to the family from a Reverend Ford, giving details of James QUEEN's death, it also says 'His brother Reuben' had died in February. Postal Card is in my possession.

In the 1850 Independence County, Arkansas, census, my James QUEEN is listed with Reuben, John, Easther, and George Queen. There is also an Elizabeth QUEEN. I'm assuming that this is their mother until I can prove or disprove it otherwise. She was 60 years old at the time and it states she was born in Tennessee.
