Enlisted 3/1/1862 at Milledgeville, WIA during Gettysburg campaign, Admitted to GH#9 Richmond with gun shot wound to thigh 7/20/1863, Transferred to Chimborazo hospital#4 7/21/1863, Returned to duty 8/3/1863, Mar/Apr 1864 roll shows him absent on furlough, Paroled at Greensboro NC 5/1/1864, Age 18 in 1860 Baldwin county census, Son of William and Mary E Fields.

Charles H. Petree - Private
Charles H. Petree enlisted in the Confederate Army in March of 1862 at the age of 20 years, 5 months from Woodstock, Cherokee Co., GA. He was assigned to 'C' Company, 'Phillips Legion' of the Georgia Cavalry, which was commanded by Col. William Phillips. The Georgia Cavalry was commanded by Lt. General Wade Hampton and was first in General Robert E. Lee's Army and later in General Joseph E. Johnston's Army. Charles H. Petree participated in many engagements during his tenure of service and came through unscathed, though he had two horses shot from under him. He was with General Joseph E. Johnston's Army at Greensboro, NC when surrender came on April 26, 1865. He died in 1915.

Joseph Richard Hubbard - Sergeant
Joseph Hubbard of Coweta Co., Georgia (1838 - 1910) served for most of the war with Phillips Cavalry Legion. He received battlefield promotions from Private to Sergeant during the war. He is my gggrandfather.

James Wilson Thomas - Private
My great-grandfather,James W. Thomas, born, Feb. 1843,in Newnan, Georgia, entered the CSA in June 11, 1861. He was wounded at Gettysburg, captured & imprisoned at Fort Delaware for the duration of the war. He was paroled May 1, 1865 at Greensboro, North Carolina. He applied for a pension in November 23, 1910 in the State of Texas. He died in Sept. 1941 in Pittsburg, Camp County, Texas.

John enlisted 25 Oct,1861 in Polk Co, Ark. He was captured 11 Jan,1863 at the Arkansas Post Battle and was sent to the MP Camp in Douglas, Il on 8 Feb,1863. He died 14 April,1863 ( probably in Petersburg,Va )

William Henry Walden - Private
William Henry Walden of Coweta Co., Georgia (1843 - 1921) served with Phillips Cavalry Legion from April 1862 to November 1863 when he was wounded at the battle of Mine Run. He was sent home on a surgeon's certificate for the rest of the war where he served in recruiting duty. After the war he moved his family to Marshall Co., Alabama. He is my gggrandfather.

William Davis Couch - Private
William Davis Couch, Enlisted July of 1862. Served until captured at Spottsylvania. Transferred to Belle Plain, VA. and then to Elmira, NY. prison. Died August 15, 1864 at Elmira and is buried there. A bucket of Georgia red clay was placed on his grave by descendant Michael Couch in 1987 so that he may rest beneath the soil he fought and died for.
