William was my 2nd Great Grandfather. He was from Murray county. He enlisted in Co D 3 SEP 1861. D Co may have later been identified as Co H or Co I. He was initially at Camp McDonald. He is listed on pay records as present through April 1982. He is listed as arrested at Div HQ on 31 AUG 1863. He was court martialed on 12 JAN 1864 for Persuading others to desert and sentenced to hard labor. I am trying to find any records of court martial, letters, pardons, leave slips, pay stubs, or anything to contribute to understanding his military service.

AG Paradise is my great great grandfather. He is sometimes listed as Augustus Greely Paradise which is erroneous. His middle name is 'Grimshaw'. Born: 7 August 1836 Lincolnton, Georgia. Died: 9 February 1920 Lincolnton, Georgia. He joined the 22nd GA Company F on 3 September 1861 along with his younger brother James C. (Calvin) Paradise. Fought at Gettysburg under AP Hill's III Corps, Anderson's Division, Wright's Brigade. Took part in 2 July 1863 evening attack on the Union center at Cemetery Ridge. Wright's Brigade has the 'distinction of penetrating the furthest into the Union defenses'...further than the more widely known Pickett's charge on 3 July 1863. Looking for anyone with a photograph of Augustus or James Paradise taken during the War or after.
