Jefferson H Gossard - Private
Jefferson Gossard was my gguncle. His brother, Philip Jackson Gossard was my gggrandfather. They served together with brothers Alvin and Amiziah and in-laws, Archibald and Nicholas Bovee in this unit. All of them would have bought the Henry Repeater rifle using $50 of their own cash. The rifle is what is thought to have saved them at Alatoona Pass Georgia when they were greatly outnumbered. Joined July 25, 1861 and discharged honorably July 25, 1864.
