Company D
John Landrum Brown - Private
Listed as ''John F. Brown'' on the Company D Roster (a mistake in transcribing in later records of the fancy copperplate handwriting L for an F.

My maternal great grandfather.

Enlisted at age 15. Wounded at Chicamauga (flesh wound -- bullet in thigh). Mustered out with the regiment at end of hostilities. Fought in pretty much all of the battles except for the 3 months after Chicamauga -- likely missed Missionary Ridge, but there for later action in places like Resaca and Franklin.

His family had moved up from Kentucky to the Piatt Co., IL area (Bement/Cerro Gordo). I believe an older brother or half-brother or step-brother -- David, was in the 73rd with him.
