Elhanan Fitzgerald - Private   
Elhanan Fitzgerald served from 8-9-1962, is listed as deserted 12-3-1862, when his brother James who enlisted 8-13-1862 was injured 12-29-1862, and later died. Most likely Elhanan took him home to Fairbury and never returned.

Samuel was my first cousin twice removed. He was killed in the battle of Peachtree near Altanta 20 Jul 1864.

He left a widow and a young son (age 3).

His discaharge papers have the 'reason for discahrge - death'

I have copies of his discaharge papers, pay vouchers and his widow's pension papers.
