Lucius Augustus Pearsall - Corporal
|
Corporal Pearsall was born in 1843 in Belvidere, Illinois, the son of Horace and Lovina Walker Pearsall. He enlisted as a Private on August 26, 1861 at the age of 18. On April 14, 1863, he was promoted to Corporal. Pearsall was killed on May 18, 1863 at Vicksburg, Mississippi.

John Conrad Logue - Corporal
|
John Conrad Logue enlisted as a Private in the 9th Iowa Infantry. He was mustered in August 17, 1861 at age 22. He was promoted to Corporal July 1, 1863. He re-enlisted January 23, 1864. He was mustered out July 18, 1865 at Louisville, Kentucky. He contracted rheumatism while digging trenches at night in the Vicksburg campaign. He also suffered a severe sunstroke while stationed at Atlanta. He never fully recovered and was never able to perform manual labor thereafter. He was granted a disability pension because of the illnesses contracted during his service.
