Daniel Chopper is my great-great grandfather. He was born on April 10, 1848 and served in the 2nd Kansas Infantry Indian Home Guard, Company B with his brother, Daylight Chopper (Dayoogachane). They are both buried at the Round Springs Indian Cemetary in near Eucha and Jay, Oklahoma with military headstones, along with my other family members.

Daylight Chopper (Dayoogachane) is my great-great grandfather's brother. He was born in 1850 and served in the 2nd Kansas Infantry Indian Home Guard, Company B with his brother (my great-great grandpa), Daniel Chopper. Archibald Scraper - Captain |
Archibald started out on the Confederacy side in Company G, 1st Cherokee Cavalry Regiment as a Private. He achived the rank of Lieutenant before being captured on 07/15/1862 along with Chief John Ross and others. This is when they switched to the Union side and became the 2nd Regiment Kansas Indian Home Guards. He mustered out at Fort Gibson on 05/31/1865.
