Fernandes Hager was my great-grandfather,(Ollena Hager his daughter was my father's mother).Born in Logan County VA (now Lincoln County WV) in 1844. He was a musician for the 14th Kentucky Infantry from 10 December 1861 till 30 January 1865. He died 1941 and is buried at the Bolt Cemetary in Lincoln County, WV.

KIA Near Burin,Kentucky in Carter County December 1862.He was killed while escorting local CSA rangers who over took their guards.Killing the small group of four union home guards.They were were buried in a mass grave near the Frank Wells farm.John T.Wells also rode with the local rangers CSA.At least one local man was charged and moved to camp chase prison.This being Henry Sloas who son Franklin Sloas fought with fields rangers CSA.
