Company D
Thomas H. McConnell - Private
Thomas McCONNELL was my great great grandfather from Sparta, MI who signed up at the age of 48 in 1863 and died less than six months later in TN. He's buried in the national cemetery in Knoxville, TN. His youngest son, Daniel W. McCONNELL, signed up at age 17 and served in the 1st MI Light Artillery, Battery D.
The McCONNELLs came to Michigan from the Philadelphia, PA area in the 1840s. I'm looking for any relatives - McCONNELL or SPANGENBURG - who might be relatives of mine.
