Thomas Bennet Singleton - Private |
'Ben' Singleton enlisted with 2 of his brothers at the outbreak of the Civil War, was wounded during the Seven Pines Campaign, sent to the Hospital in Richmond, recovered and rejoined his unit. He rose to the rank of Second Sergeant in late 1863 but was listed as AWOL and broken to the rank of Private upon his return. After the War he married and moved to Bridgeport Texas were he raised a family. He is buried in Boonesville Texas, the only known Confederate Veteran in the Cemetary
