Owen David Slaughter - Private   
Owen has five cards in his archival file. He was 32 years old when he joined as a Pvt. Co C 33rd Regt Miss, Vol's. Enlisted by Lieut. A.B. Hardcastle at Vicksburg, Miss. on 13 ov. 1861. In June of 1862 he is assigned extra duty as a Wagonneer. In June of 1863 he is assigned extra duty by order of Gen. Hardee. That duty is not explained. He is captured at the Battle of Stones River on 11 Jan 1863 and sent to Camp Douglas, Chicago Ill. Pardoned on 3 April and sent to City Point for exchange. Arriving at City Point on 10 April 1863. I realize the dates above conflict a bit , but have no explination. Data copied from official records as is.

Andrew Jenkins Presley - Private   
Andrew Jenkins Presley enlisted in Capt. R.J. Hall's Company in January 1862. He spent the last 13 months of the war as a POW at Camp Douglas, Illinois. Jenks had two brothers that also served during the Civil War. Elias H. Presley served with the 2nd Arkansas Infantry CSA, and Rausel C. Presley was a member of the 39th Mississippi Infantry.

He is with Featherson's Brigade. Taken POW to Nashville. Tenn and on to Louisville, Ky. Then to Camp Douglas in Chicago. Illinois. He was released 17 June 1865 after "Swallowing the Yellow Dog" He is described as fair skin, light hair, blue eyes and 5ft 9 inches tall: Remarks Duck Hill, Mississippi

James M. Tinnon - Captain   
James M. Tinnon entered service on March 22, 1862 from Choctaw Co. He was Capt. of Co. G ('The Davis Guards') which was organized at Oakley on April 1, 1862. The Co. had an original enrollment of 84 officers and men. He served for the duration of the war, including the Atlanta Campaign. He was a resident of Beauvoir Soldiers Home from 1914 until his death on Dec. 12, 1931, just days short of his 102 Birthday. He is buried at Beauvoir.

Andrew Jackson Bearden was born on March 14, 1840 in Georgia. He enlisted in the Thirty-third Infantry, Co. I on April 7, 1862 at Grenada, MS. He was 22 years old. After the war he married Martha Jane Burns and lived the remainder of his life in Panola County, MS. He is buried at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Pope, MS. His second wife applied for a Confederate widow's pension in 1910.
