my gggrandfather; voluntered in 2nd miss inf bat from alabama. supposedly served under ap hill, johnston and beauregard. We know he fought at chancellorsville, gettsburg(round top), and battle of the wilderness. He was wounded at the wilderness. carried the miniball in his his back until death in oklahoma in 1938 at age 97., buried near ft. worth, tx.

Jams Perry Cohea @ age 16 left home without the knowledge of his family on January 16, 1863, walked the 12 miles to Graysport Landing, Miss, and enlisted with a Major Lee of the 48th Miss that was home on leave to recruit troops. He traveled the distance to Virginia where the unit was in winter quarters. He fought at Chancellorsville, Mine Run Campaign, Wilderness, Spotsyvania, and Petersburg where he was killed in action Sept. 19, 1864 and is buried with his Miss. battle brothers in Blanchard Cemetery.
