July 15,1864. 18 year-old farmer,5'10',hazel eyes, fair complexion,light colored hair. Died at home of 'consumption',May 20,1865. Buried Round Grove Cemetery,Round Grove, Lawrence County, Missouri. Stephen had Confederate cousins from east Tennessee.

P. R. Davis was the son of Thomas J. and Elizabeth (Glen) Davis. His brother, George, served with the 1st Arkansas Cavalry (Union). His brothers, Thomas H. and Wiley, served in the 6th Missouri Cavalry (Union). P. R. Davis was from Granby Twp, Newton County, Missouri. He was a blacksmith and farmer. He enlisted in the Missouri Home Guard, then transfered to the 15th Missouri. He was born 10 August 1824 in Tennessee and died 21 March 1902 in Arkansas.
